The practitioner training assumes you have somewhere to put it. It is not a career-change course and it does not create a practice from nothing — it gives structure to work you are already doing. If you are not yet working with anyone, that is fine, but it changes what we would honestly recommend as your next step.

Several ordinary, treatable conditions produce almost exactly this symptom picture — and a framework for persistent immune activation is the wrong tool if the real answer is an underactive thyroid or low iron. Realistically, how much time do you have?

A real constraint, not a filter. If your energy is limited — which, given who this is for, it very often is — the self-paced course is the appropriate choice and you can take as long as you need over it. The practitioner training runs to a weekly structure and is harder to do in fragments.

The immune model these courses are built on is a published, peer-reviewed hypothesis. Peer review means it was judged a reasonable contribution to the literature. It does not mean it has been proven correct, and we will not tell you otherwise — in the public course, the practitioner training, or the clinician course. Where evidence is genuinely disputed, we teach it as disputed. If you want certainty, no honest person in this field can sell you any.

ROOT Foundations is your starting point.

You are trying to understand your own health, which is exactly what the entry course was built for. It is self-paced, in plain English, with a short video and a worksheet in each section — you map your own timeline, work out whether the gut appears to be driving things, learn which ordinary conditions to rule out with your doctor first, and build a plan in a sensible order rather than changing six things at once. It assumes no medical background and you can take as long over it as you need.

You want to guide other people, and that is a real path. It runs through Foundations first, and not as a formality: it is where you apply the framework to the one person whose history you know completely, which is what makes the reasoning stick. Complete it and you become eligible to apply for the ROOT Healer Academy, with priority access. Applications are read personally, and if the fit is not right yet we will tell you what would change that.

The clinician course is your route.

You hold clinical responsibility, so neither the public course nor the practitioner training is pitched at you. The clinician course is a postgraduate-level reasoning course: eight modules sequenced by mechanism, from why single-diagnosis thinking stalls, through the organ-damage-versus-immune-dysregulation differential, to diagnostic safety and reading a normal result as information rather than reassurance. Every claim carries its evidence status. It is still in development, and CPD accreditation is being pursued but is not held — we are not claiming accredited status and will confirm the exact position before enrolment opens.

See a doctor before anything else.

This is not us turning you away — it is the same thing the courses themselves say in their opening sections. Thyroid dysfunction, iron and B12 deficiency, arrhythmia, sleep apnoea and autoimmune disease can all produce this picture, and several of them are straightforwardly treatable. A framework for persistent immune activation is the wrong tool if one of those is the actual answer.\n\nAsk for those to be looked at. If the results come back unremarkable and you are still unwell, come back — that is precisely the situation these courses were written for, and a normal result is information rather than the end of the road.

That isn't what this trains you to do.

You said you would expect to diagnose and recommend treatment. The ROOT Healer Academy does not permit that and cannot confer it — only a regulated clinical qualification can. ROOT guides are educators and pattern recognisers: they explain the biology, help someone map their history, support a sequenced plan, and refer when something needs a doctor. A large part of the training is devoted to those limits.\n\nIf that narrower role is still of interest, Foundations is the honest place to start. If you are already a regulated clinician, the clinician course is the appropriate route instead. And if neither is what you were looking for, that is a legitimate answer and we would rather you found out here.
