THE WILD CARD — OFFICIAL TERMS
The Wild Card offers one woman a complimentary place at The Fire Gathering, a one-night creative retreat presented by The Mild Wild in northern Minnesota.
ELIGIBILITY
The Wild Card is open to women age 18 or older who reside in Minnesota and are available to attend the complete Fire Gathering on October 31-November 1, 2026.
You may nominate yourself or another woman. If you nominate someone else, she must give her permission to be considered and must independently confirm her eligibility, availability and desire to attend before the place is awarded.
Employees, contractors and immediate family or household members of The Mild Wild are not eligible.
ENTRY PERIOD
Entries open on September 22 and close on October 11 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. Entries received after the deadline will not be considered.
There is no fee or purchase required to enter. Purchasing a retreat registration does not improve your likelihood of being selected.
HOW TO ENTER
Complete and submit the official Wild Card form during the entry period. Only one entry per nominee will be considered.
Entries should respond thoughtfully and honestly to the application questions. Writing ability, grammar and response length will not be considered.
Incomplete, duplicate, automated, misleading or fraudulent submissions may be disqualified.
SELECTION
The recipient will be selected by The Mild Wild based on:
• The nominee’s connection to the theme of The Fire Gathering
• The sincerity and thoughtfulness of the response
• What receiving the place could make possible for the nominee
• The nominee’s ability and willingness to participate in the complete retreat experience
The Wild Card is awarded through a thoughtful, subjective selection process and is not a random drawing.
The selected recipient will be contacted by email on or around October 12 and must respond within 48 hours. If she cannot attend, does not meet the eligibility requirements or does not respond within that time, another recipient may be selected.
THE WILD CARD
The Wild Card includes one complimentary place at The Fire Gathering, with an approximate retail value of $550. It includes scheduled retreat programming, overnight lodging, included meals and the experiences described on the event website.
Transportation to and from the venue, travel insurance, personal purchases and expenses outside the stated retreat inclusions are the responsibility of the recipient.
The Wild Card has no cash value and may not be sold, transferred or exchanged. If the selected recipient has already purchased her registration, her retreat payment will be refunded and her place will become complimentary.
EVENT CONFIRMATION AND CANCELLATION
The Fire Gathering requires a minimum number of registered guests to proceed. The Mild Wild reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the retreat if minimum enrollment is not reached, the venue becomes unavailable or circumstances beyond the host’s reasonable control make the gathering unsafe or impractical.
If the retreat is canceled, The Wild Card will end without a cash substitute or reimbursement for transportation, lodging or other expenses arranged independently by the recipient. Please avoid making nonrefundable travel arrangements until the event has been formally confirmed.
PARTICIPATION
The selected recipient must complete the same registration materials, agreements and liability waivers required of all Fire Gathering guests. She is responsible for communicating any dietary, accessibility or health considerations that may affect her participation.
Participation in individual retreat activities is invitational, and guests may care for their own needs throughout the gathering.
PRIVACY AND STORIES
Information submitted through the application will be used to administer The Wild Card and contact the nominee. Entry does not automatically subscribe the entrant or nominee to promotional emails.
The entrant retains ownership of her written response. The Mild Wild will not publicly share a nominee’s name, personal story or application response without obtaining her permission.
RELEASE OF PLATFORMS
The Wild Card is presented solely by The Mild Wild. It is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook, Instagram, Meta, Flodesk or any other social platform used to share the invitation.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
By entering, you confirm that the information provided is truthful, that you have read and accepted these terms and that you meet the eligibility requirements.
The Mild Wild may modify, suspend or end The Wild Card if circumstances affect its fairness, integrity or ability to proceed as intended. Decisions made by The Mild Wild concerning eligibility and selection are final.
