About the survey

As chair of the MTPC, I would like to improve accessibility to the programme for parents and carers and improve the experience of parents and carers on the programme to enable them to fulfil their potential and succeed in the programme. I will write a report for the NSHCS summarising the information gathered in this survey and making recommendations and suggestions.

I would be grateful if you could complete this survey to share your experiences of being a trainee who is a parent and/or carer.

I will use the data to prepare a report, which will be submitted to the NSHCS.

No identifying details are included in the survey and responses will be kept securely.

Flexible working: ^*

Several trainees who are also parents or carers have mentioned flexible working arrangements as being an important topic. Currently we do not have much collated data on trainees' experiences of flexible working while completing the programme. Do you work flexibly e.g. part time? Has this been in place since the beginning of your STP or was it started later, e.g. after the birth of a child or beginning of a new caring responsibility? How was your experience of requesting and negotiating flexible working. If you do not have a flexible working arrangement in place would you like to work flexibly? Do you have any other comments you would like to make on this topic?
