Watershed Restoration Program Fall 2026 Event

The Upper San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District (Upper Water) & U.S. Forest Service welcomes you, your family and friends to join us in a collective effort to restore and rejuvenate our watershed. As part of our commitment to the environment and community, we are hosting two watershed restoration events.

Date & Time: Saturday, October 24th and November 14th from 8:00AM-12:00PM* (please arrive by 7:45 a.m.)

Activity: Tree planting
Who Can Join: All ages welcome (adult supervision required for children).

Must have guardian/parent fill out (everything highlighted in yellow) and sign the U.S. Forest Service form, in addition to the Upper Water Volunteer Form.
U.S. Forest Service Minor Volunteer Form: https://tinyurl.com/USFSFall2026

A U.S. Forest Service form is required for each minor (Example: A Girl Scouts Troop must submit one form per minor).

Community Service: Students can earn community service hours at the end of the event.
Preparation: Bring drinking water, sunscreen, and wear outdoor/weather appropriate clothing (e.g., hat, sunglasses, long sleeves, shorts/pants). Be sure to arrange transportation for the full event—we encourage carpooling! Arrive by 7:45 a.m. to receive instructions and join the caravan, which departs no later than 8:15 a.m. Late arrivals may miss out on the day's activities. All Fall 2026 events will travel deeper into the Canyon, up to the Crystal Lake area (approx. 20–25 minutes from the Education Center).

Event Address: San Gabriel Canyon Environmental Education Center - San Gabriel Canyon Rd, Forest Rte 2N24, Azusa, CA 91702 (Google Maps link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/4zprDmjTMoPUwyee7) . Event will start here and move up to Crystal Lake planting area no later than 8:15am. Late arrivals may miss the caravan and not be able to participate as the planting location is secluded.
