The California Dance Education Association (CDEA) is actively seeking passionate dance educators with a strong advocacy mindset to join both its Executive and Greater Boards. Emphasizing the crucial role of advocating for dance education at all levels in California, CDEA is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to supporting emerging, practicing, and master dance artists, teachers, and scholars. Through advocacy efforts and professional development opportunities, CDEA aims to advance dance as a performing art across diverse educational sectors and communities throughout the state of California.

Greater Board Positions are open to members desiring to serve in specialized roles. As an actively engaged board, Greater Board members are anticipated to participate in monthly meetings and endorse, support and collaborate on the initiatives and projects of the organization.

The Executive Board takes the lead and carries out the tasks related to policy-making, finances, and legislative matters. It is comprised of the Co-Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, President(s) Elect, and, optionally one sector representative, all of whom possess voting rights.

Being a working board, the CDEA Executive Board necessitates expertise in specific roles crucial for the organization's leadership, structure, and enduring stability. We encourage candidates to assess their capacity to offer continual support in these roles within to the organization.

Thank you for your interest in the CDEA Executive and Greater Board. As a state affiliate of NDEO, every candidate for both the CDEA Executive and Greater Boards must be an existing member. Please visit www.ndeo.org to become a part of the organization or to verify your membership. Once you obtain your membership number, you can proceed to submit your nomination.
