Join The Peekskill Plan Resident Advisory Committee!

The City of Peekskill is seeking residents to serve on a new Resident Advisory Committee (RAC), a diverse, community-based committee that will bring local knowledge, lived experience, and public perspective to The Peekskill Plan.

About The Peekskill Plan

The Peekskill Plan is a community-driven effort to create a new Comprehensive Plan that will guide the city’s future growth, investment, and development. Once completed and adopted, The Peekskill Plan will replace the City’s last Comprehensive Plan, which was adopted in 1981.

Together with residents, businesses, and local leaders, the plan will shape key priorities including land use, housing, transportation and traffic safety, economic development, and sustainability.

For more information about The Peekskill Plan, please check out the project website.

About The RAC

The Resident Advisory Committee (RAC) will be a volunteer group of twelve (12) Peekskill residents selected through a civic lottery who provide input, feedback, and on-the-ground perspectives to help shape the City's new Comprehensive Plan. RAC members will be expected to attend approximately 3–5 committee meetings with City staff and project consultants, scheduled periodically over the course of the project (anticipated June 2026–August 2027).

Applications Due: Sunday, June 14th at 11:59 PM

Answers to the following questions (such as those about race, gender, age, living situation, occupation, etc.) will be used to support the formation of a Committee that is diverse, inclusive, and broadly representative of the City’s population. Other application questions may also be used to gauge interest and incorporate a diversity of perspectives.

Therefore, please do answer truthfully and provide as much relevant information as possible to demonstrate why you'd be a good fit for this opportunity!

Given that a lottery process cannot guarantee perfect representation of every group, certain target minimums may be applied during the selection process to promote the involvement of typically underrepresented groups, such as younger residents, renters, foreign-born, and non-white residents.
