1. We recognize from the onset that Mumia Abu-Jamal was wrongly convicted and our ultimate objective is to liberate him.
2. We uplift a movement that is international & intergenerational, that values the experience of those older, and embraces the insights of those that are younger.
3. Until Mumia Abu-Jamal is free, we are eager to embrace new strategies and perspectives in order for us to not stay stagnant in pursuit of our ultimate objective.
4. We do not tolerate racial, ethnic, religious, gender or sexuality based discrimination or violence, and seek to be actively anti-racist, anti-misogynist, anti-ageist, anti-queerphobic and anti-zionist in all matters.
5. We expect our members to be able to say what they mean and mean what they say, keeping cordial, honest and accountable conversation at all times.
6. We have adopted a committee structure and we ask members to participate in committee work, assess capacity & operate in good faith when joining a committee; actively commiting ourselves to the agreed upon work.
7. We take care of each other, and this includes new additions to the work, making sure all members feel prepared to participate and are never left behind.
8. We listen & treat each other with grace, warmth and care; understanding that we are dealing with an immense amount of trauma and grief from the nature of this work and having these shared perspectives. We recognize the need to be kind and gracious to one another in the face of the vast, institutional cruelties we are witness to.
9. We expect folks to be able to be accountable to each other. Likewise, we seek to understand and resolve conflict before it festers and sores.
