This takes about 10–20 minutes, depending on which service you choose. Have these ready and it'll go quickly:
• Your passport
• A photo of yourself against a plain white wall
• Your driver's license or state ID
(Already submitted COVA yourself and just need drop-off & pick-up? You'll only need your COVA confirmation page.)
Your answers save automatically — if you need to step away, we'll email you a link to pick up right where you left off.
Please don't use auto-fill or auto-complete while filling this out — it can cause errors.

There are five Chinese consulates in the U.S., and your passport must be submitted in-person to the one with jurisdiction over your state.
Consulates do not accept direct submissions by mail — so you have two paths forward: visit the consulate yourself, or let us handle it.

Full Service — We complete your online application, send you a prepaid FedEx label, and you drop your passport at any FedEx location. We receive it, submit it at the consulate, pick it up when ready, pay the consulate fee, and ship it back to you.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up Only — If you've already completed the online application yourself, just provide your confirmation page and we handle the rest: prepaid FedEx label, consulate submission, pickup, and shipping back to you.

The full process typically takes 3–4 weeks. After your application is submitted to the Chinese government, they take 2-3 weeks to review and approve it. Once your passport is physically at the consulate, processing takes roughly 4 days (3 days for Rush).
These are estimates — consulate processing times shift in real time and are outside our control.

This determines which Chinese consulate handles your application, so it has to be exact. It must match the state on the photo ID or proof of residence you'll upload later in this form. If you've recently moved, use the state shown on your current ID — not where you're moving to.
California residents: choose Southern for Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, Santa Barbara, or Bakersfield; choose Northern for the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, San Jose, and north.

Your visa is printed directly into your passport — you need it back before you can travel anywhere. Select a date at least 2 days before you physically leave for your trip.
We cannot guarantee a completion date. Our estimates are based on experience and information available on the day you asked — consulate processing times shift in real time and are outside our control.
Note: If you have another trip scheduled before your China flight, please select a date at least 2 days before that trip's departure instead.

This is a critical step for Drop-Off & Pick-Up customers. Most delays happen here.
Because the COVA portal requires a one-time code sent to your personal email, we cannot log in for you. You must provide this screenshot yourself.
• Desktop/Laptop only: Mobile screenshots are not accepted.
• Check Daily: The embassy will not email you when your status changes. You must log in to the COVA portal every evening to check for updates until you see the "Passport to be submitted" status.
'Oops! something went wrong.',
Your screenshot must show all 4 requirements:
1. Status: Must be "Passport to be submitted" (Highlighed in BLUE). If it is grey, your application is still processing.
2. Barcode: Must be fully visible and clear.
3. Name: Applicant name must be clearly readable.
4. D.C. Applicants: You must hover over "Additional reminders" and capture the pop-up text. Tip: Search "how to take a delayed screenshot" if you are having trouble capturing the hover-text.

Don't have the "Blue" status yet? No problem. Hit Next to continue your application now, but remember to log in to COVA daily. You can return to this link to upload your screenshot once the status changes to blue.
