Some guidelines for writing your letter:
Decide who your letter is addressed to of the following options:
the reader, your younger self, someone who went through the experience with you, a family member, someone you lost along the way, yourself today or your future self.
Describe what you experienced and how it affected you mentally. What aspect of it took you to a dark place? How long did this experience last? Go into as much detail as you like.
How and when did hope return - or in what new way did you find hope? Did hope come from other people or within? Was there a key moment, or was it gradual?
Tell us where you're at today and how this experience changed your life.
